Deputy Chief Constable Pam Kelly

Deputy Chief Constable Pam Kelly joined the service in 1994 and has spent the majority of her career in Dyfed Powys Police. She joined Gwent Police as Temporary Deputy Chief Constable in July 2017.

Since joining the service, Pam has spent the majority of her career within the Criminal Investigation Department, dealing with Intelligence, Covert Policing, Professional Standards and Public Protection matters.  

Pam is passionate about safeguarding vulnerable people and has spent time on secondment with HMIC, tasked with inspecting forces in England and Wales following the death of Victoria Climbie. For many years Pam performed the role of Senior Investigating Officer, leading murder, manslaughter and serious crime investigations and has also played a lead role as Senior Identification Manager in recovering deceased British Citizens from mass disasters in Afghanistan, Tripoli and the Tsunami.

Pam is proud to be a Fellow of the University of Trinity St David having graduated in Religious Studies and English at Trinity College, Carmarthen.

Pam enjoys skiing and spending time with her family and friends.
