Assistant Chief Constable Rhiannon Kirk

Rhiannon has served in Gwent Police since 1992, performing a variety of uniform and CID roles at all ranks. Rhiannon was Head of Tarian (Welsh Regional Organised Crime Unit) between 2011 and 2014.

For the last three years, Rhiannon has led the Staying Ahead Change Programme, reviewing every aspect of the Force and responding to enormous change, whilst achieving significant efficiencies. Rhiannon has led the Staying Ahead team, shaping Gwent Police's response to HMIC inspections. Our inspection results have progressed from 'requires improvement' to 'good' in the areas of legitimacy, efficiency and effectiveness.

Rhiannon is, and always has been passionate about helping people, which is at the heart of policing, and values fairness and professionalism. A keen musician, she is a member of a choir, and can often be seen out running, although at a slower pace these days.
